Melbourne held its Regional Championship over the weekend and managed to make it the biggest Pokémon event in the country to date, eclipsing Sydney’s record last week by over 100. There were a total of 376 people attending the event with 272 Masters, 62 Seniors and 42 Junior competitors battling it out for the title of champion. The tournament was single elimination with best of 3 sets until the quarter finals, when it changed to a best of 1 due to time constraints. The battles were intense, the atmosphere was electric, and the overall day was amazing! There were an uneven number of competitors going into the top 16 for Masters and the quarter finals for Seniors, so all the teams are listed. As it was single elimination the only set places we know for certain are the top 4 in each division, with the rest being classified as “top 9″ and/or “top 17″ respectively on the day.
